Master the art of tempura during a 2.5-hour class. Get a hands-on experience as you learn the history of tempura, and understand the steps to making dashi (traditional fish stock), which is used as a base for soup and dipping sauce. Presentation is important in Japanese culture, so learn to set and garnish your dishes in an artful way, then enjoy your meal.

Hands-on Experience of Japanese Cooking!
At the beginning of this class, the instructor shows you a short video that walks you through what you'll cook and overviews the steps in general including a little bit about the history of tempura. Then wearing original Kimono style apron and the class starts at making traditional Japanese soup stock, Dashi. Your instructor guides you step by step how to make savory Dashi and tips of making beautiful soup.
Next, kitchen knives and chopping boards will be provided to each participant to make the ingredients of clear soup. In Japan, the setting of dishes is very important, so the dishes are often decorated with beautifully chopped ingredients. In this class you will experience decorative cutting of Kamaboko (fish paste cake). After that, cut the vegetables into julienne and make salad with vinegar and yuzu (Japanese citron).
In this experience, you make traditional tempura and some kinds of arrange tempura. All the ingredients are included in this activity! (9 kinds of tempura including one big shrimp!)
